Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not yet high enough to be classified as diabetes. It is a warning sign that you are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Frequent urination, also known as polyuria, is more commonly associated with diabetes than prediabetes. However, in some cases, prediabetes can lead to mild symptoms of frequent urination, especially if blood sugar levels are significantly elevated.
When blood sugar levels are high, the kidneys work to remove the excess sugar from the blood, leading to increased urine production. This can cause you to urinate more often, especially at night.
